Eligibility
Who Can Donate Blood?

Before donating, make sure you meet these basic requirements.

Age 18–65 Years

Donors must be between 18 and 65 years old to be eligible for donation.

Weight ≥ 45 kg

Minimum weight of 45 kg is required to safely donate blood.

Good Health

You must be in good health on the day of donation — no fever, cold or illness.

Hemoglobin ≥ 12.5 g/dL

Minimum hemoglobin level required. This is checked before donation.

Not Pregnant / Breastfeeding

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding cannot donate blood.

No Recent Illness

Wait at least 2 weeks after recovery from fever, cold, or infection.

3 Months Gap Required

Men must wait 3 months, women 4 months between donations.

No Antibiotics Recently

Wait at least 7 days after completing a course of antibiotics.

Follow these simple steps to have a safe and easy donation experience.

Drink at least 2–3 extra glasses of water before your donation.

Eat Well

Have a proper meal 2–3 hours before donating. Avoid fatty foods.

Rest Well

Get a good night's sleep before your donation day.

No Smoking

Avoid smoking at least 2 hours before and after donation.

No Heavy Exercise

Skip intense workouts on the day of donation.

Bring a valid government ID like Aadhar card to the blood bank.
